Announcement of My Second Session at DINAcon Bern

For the second time in a row, I will give a session at DINAcon in Bern. This year’s session with the title “Nachhaltigkeit in der Softwareentwicklung – ein ungewöhnlicher Ansatz” (“Sustainability in Software Development—an Unusual Approach”) will take place in the afternoon of October 23, 2020 and examine the problems of today’s (and ever-existing) software development processes from a different angle: the mental capabilities of the human being, i.e., the software developers themselves.

Having studied didactics for both computer science and mathematics, as well as having been teaching for about 10 years, I will present the unusual approach of incorporating didactic principles in the art of computer programming. Since the human brain has retained constant capabilities ever since, we cannot increase the complexity of software development any further without drastically losing productivity.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the DINAcon committee has quite recently decided to conduct the whole event as an online event. Tickets are free, but donations are very welcome. Please find more information about booking your tickets at dinacon.ch/tickets/. For more details on my session, please see dinacon.ch/sessions/2020/nachhaltigkeit-in-der-softwareentwicklung-ein-ungewoehnlicher-ansatz/ (in German only).

The whole DINAcon team and me are looking forward to your participation.
